COVID-19 has forced a rethink for everyone and everything, including arts practices. Libraries ACT has taken up the challenge, bringing stories to families in a safe outdoor space. I was thrilled to see many umbrellas bobbing down the story walk path in rainy Gungahlin earlier this week. Maura Pierlot is an award-winning author and playwright based in Canberra, Australia. Her debut picture book, The Trouble in Tune Town, won the 2018 ACT Writing and Publishing Award (Children’s category) and overseas honours. Maura has received artsACT funding to produce an adaptation of her play, Fragments for the digital space. Fragments, Maura's debut professional theatre production, enjoyed a sell-out season at The Street Theatre, Canberra in 2019. Maura's debut young adult novel is awaiting publication.
